Love it! July 31, 2010 Leslie J. Gath I love it. I read it every night. Almost all books are well formatted for the Kindle. Equations don't show up well in one computer programming book. All the physics books so far look great. Battery life is awesome.
Happy Kindle reader July 31, 2010 Sarah Rodgers (Oklahoma) I flat wore out my first Kindle and had to have a replacement. This one is ever better than the first generation. I always had lots of problems with the first one but liked it anyway. In fact I bought four more to give my children for Christmas. We are a happy and contented Kindle family! This Kindle was purchased from Amazon and, as usual, I got great service.
Greatest investment ever July 31, 2010 Vampire slayer I love books. I read all the time and I read probably two thick books in a week. So I end up spending a lot of money to get the newest releases and such. I got this Kindle for christmas last year and let me tell you, it has saved me a bunch of money and it's probably the best Christimas present i've ever gotten. I mean, it's inexpensive, light, and portable. I've never had a problem with it. You're actually getting what the ads offer. I've read when the sun is blazing, even put it directly in the sunlight and i swear there is no glare. I got a cool case for it so it still feels like a book. You have your own dictionary in there so you can point to a word you don't know in the text by scrolling down to it, and it will give you the definition of said word which i find very nice because you don't have to get out your dictionary and try to figure out what's going on.
You can also put 1,500 books on there which is kinda nice because you have basically a library on this tiny device and you can take all the books you want with you on a trip. Oh, and my favorite feature, the bookmark. I can't tell you how much i hate it when a bookmark falls out of place in a book, especially a big one, and you have to go hunting for that page! Well, now you don't have to. Even if you close the book on accident (which i have done on occasion) it automatically bookmarks the page that you were on so that when you open it again, it's right there. No hassle.
And the battery life really does last for up to five weeks. That's more than a month without having to charge it people! I couldn't believe it. In fact, I left it on on purpose to see if they were lying. They aren't. If you buy this product, you won't be sorry. It will save you a lot of money and time. If you read all the time, then this product is for you.
I love it.
Thank you Amazon, for making a product that fits the needs of readers all over the U.S. I finally have a way to keep all my precious books with me all the time. :)
Wonderful July 31, 2010 darbarr20 I got my kindle about a week ago and i have to say that i absolutley love it. I am so glad i don't have to buy a physical book that takes up space anymore. I love the screen pictures that show up when the kindle is asleep or turned off. The connection to the kindle store is wonderful. Thanks for making such a wonderful product.
Do not buy this product July 30, 2010 Simon 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
My spouse purchased this junk for me. It wouldn't take a charge from almost day one without having to wrap the cord around the unit to hold the plug in just the right place. Within a few months, it started restarting repeatedly. Now it is completely frozen. Just buy a book and read it. Kindle is synonymous with junk.
