 Doesn't perform worth a darn September 7, 2010

I've had it for approx 1.5 months. At first it seemed to meet my needs as I am an occassional shredder of garbage mail that comes in with private information on it. After only 1 month it became jammed when I ran with 3 sheets of 8.5 x 11 nothing special paper through it. I cleaned it out the best I could, but can only now shred on the left side. Keep your money and use it towards a better model. I wish I would have.
Just what I expected September 6, 2010

This shredder is just what I expected to receive. It works great for home use. The basket is a little smaller than the one I had before, but is sufficient for normal home use. I had a small pile to be shredded awaiting its arrival, and shredded two basket fulls within a short period of time. Worked fine and I anticipate no problems with it for my needs.

This shredder is not good. The blades have jammed twice even though I follow the instructutions and shred no more than five sheets at a time. Not good. I would return it if I could.

The day I got this shredder, it got jammed with 2 sheets of paper going through it. Getting it unjammed took forever and it immediately got jammed again in the center. While I could shred down either side of the jam, the shredder would not cut itself off because of the jam and easily got overheated. The shredding mechanism isn't as strong as another aurora shredder I have owned, but it did the job decently. It is a strip shredder, so if you need to shred something important, look elsewhere for cross-cut or true confetti shredding. Overall, if it's not jammed it does a great job. If you have a lot to shred or use it frequently (every day), look elsewhere.

A great economical shredder. The CD/CC shredder is a nice benefit. Decent basket size. Love the adjustable feature to be able to sit it on top of various sized cans. Definitely recommend this for most anyone.
